Inverness Orienteering Club was founded in 1978 and was one of the original orienteering clubs in the Highlands. Our area covers terrain both north and south of the Great Glen and as far afield as Sutherland and Speyside. We have strong links with our neighbouring clubs in Badenoch & Strathspey and along the Moray Coast. We put on a whole range of events from small local evening events up to major national competitions to suit all standards. Why not come along and try orienteering?

INVOC has a strong coaching emphasis, particularly for juniors, and we encourage people of all ages to participate in the sport. Throughout the season the Club organises coaching events suitable for all. If you are interested in coaching or joining the Club please get in touch - see the Contact page.

JK 2012: The Jan Kjellström International Festival of Orienteering is coming to Scotland in April 2012. This is one of UK orienteering's really big annual events, always held over Easter weekend. Scotland hosts the JK about once a decade. Four events over four days - a sprint in Livingston on Friday 6th April, and three days in Perthshire - individual races on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th, and a relay on Monday 9th. All the Scottish clubs will be involved, with INVOC helping out on the Saturday. Lots more info on the JK 2012 web site.

The next deadline to get reduced price entries is now 31st January. And if you want to find accommodation, best to do so ASAP!

Not the INVOC News Facebook Group: Kevin Holliday has set up a facebook group to provide a forum for lifts, discussion, etc. He says: "If any facebook members want to post messages there then join up and request/inform/rant....lift requests/offers/notification of training or competition travelling etc., let people post what they wish."

The facebook group is intended to be something helpful for interested folk, it is not an 'official' club offering.

INVOC Club League
